Just Show Up—As You Are.
May 04, 2025
Lately, I’ve been thinking about what it really means to show up.
Not in a performative way. Not pushing through when you're struggling.
But showing up with your whole, honest self—however that looks today.
Tired? Come as you are.
Overwhelmed? Still welcome.
Not feeling like the best version of yourself? You don’t have to be.
Just be there.
Because your presence matters—more than you know.
I think about my husband’s grandpa.
He had a quiet strength and a quick wit.
He could drop a one-liner that made you laugh out loud or offer a piece of wisdom that stuck with you long after the moment passed.
But the thing I remember most?
He showed up.
Always.
Even as his health declined, even when things were hard—he made it a point to be there.
For birthdays. For holidays. For everyday moments.
Not because he was trying to push through, but because he knew how much it meant to just be with the people you love.
To be present.
To be real.
To be there.
And that’s something I want to carry forward.
Not waiting until I feel “better” or “more together” to connect.
But showing up anyway—with my full heart, even if it’s a little heavy.
Letting the people I love see me. Be with me. And support me.
Because showing up doesn’t mean being perfect.
It just means being present.
And that’s more than enough.
