Sometimes You Just Need to Live It

I kept feeling like I was missing something.
Nothing major, just a low-level tug, like maybe I should be saying yes more. Doing more. Going out. Staying up later. Living it up the way I used to.

So I did.
And here’s what happened:
It didn’t fill me up. It didn’t spark anything new. It didn’t feel like me.

It actually reminded me how much I like slower mornings. How much I love being home. How much better I feel when I’m not trying to keep up with some invisible standard of “more.”

Here’s the thing: I didn’t regret trying.
Because sometimes we need to live the thing to know it’s not for us anymore.

It’s easy to get stuck in our heads, questioning whether we’re boring, missing out, or falling behind. But real clarity doesn’t always come from thinking about it. It comes from doing, trying, and noticing how it feels.

I’ve been in this place of figuring out the difference between who I’ve been, often shaped by others' expectations, and who I really am. What I care about. What energizes me. What drains me.

And this small moment gave me a big answer:
I’m not missing out.
I’m just more in tune with myself now.

So if you’re in a season of wondering… if you feel torn between the version of you that used to say yes to everything and the version of you that just wants something quieter, slower, simpler. That’s okay. You’re not doing it wrong. You’re growing.

Sometimes the best way to find out what’s right for you…is to live what’s not.
